Experiencing “El Arte de Andalucía a Caballo”

A Family Night to Remember: Experiencing “El Arte de Andalucía a Caballo” with Carmelo Cuevas

On the evening of September 6th, 2024, my family and I had the unforgettable opportunity to witness “El Arte de Andalucía a Caballo,” a remarkable equestrian Flamenco show by Carmelo Cuevas and his team, in the Plaza de Toros of Camarma de Esteruelas. The experience was magical—not just for the spectacular performances, but for the deep connection Carmelo Cuevas fosters between humans and horses.

According to his website, this is a passion project for Cuevas, whose mission is to honor the noble horse as a true friend and companion. As he gracefully guided his Andalusian horses through intricate movements and choreographed routines, Cuevas’ bond with them was undeniable. His philosophy he says is, “The horse is not just an animal, but a life partner.” It was easy to see why he is so dedicated to sharing this with the world.

For my children, seeing these magnificent creatures move in perfect harmony with the Flamenco dancer was an entertaining experience. The horses were more than just performers; they were the heart of the show. The rhythm of the live music, the clapping, and the dancer's swirling dresses created a captivating atmosphere. My kids were mesmerized by the traditions they were witnessing.

Carmelo Cuevas’ dedication to bringing the beauty of horses to every corner of the world is truly inspiring. This evening not only deepened our appreciation for the elegance, intelligence, and loyalty of Andalusian culture. A night well spent as a family, and one we’ll cherish for years.
