Weatherly Report Fall 2019
Howdy!
We have some BIG NEWS!
We are EXCITED to announce that as of this month (October 2019), our family has been approved by the Assembly of God World Missions Executive Committee to be career missionaries!
First, we would like to give a great big “THANK YOU” to all our family, friends, and supporters. Thank you for praying for us and for those who generously gave as we served in Spain over the past few years! Your prayer and support helped us to create the Heritage Project at International Media Ministries. We could not have done this without you! This project focuses on telling North Africans about their rich Christian heritage. It also combats the lie that this area has always been Muslim. The Heritage Project is currently being translated into the four main Berber languages of North Africa, into Arabic and Farsi (Persian) for the countries in the Middle East, along with Spanish and French for Europe. In North America, the name is changed to “Lost Legacy Reclaimed.” If you have Amazon Prime Video, you can view the first four episodes at http://s1.ag.org/lostlegacyreclaimed
Second, we have a new assignment. With the growing number of Assembly of God churches in Spain, trained pastors are desperately needed. In a country of 40+ million people, less than 1% are evangelical Christian. Most people are anti-religion, claim atheism, or are agnostic, Buddhist, or Muslim. Because of this, we have been asked to serve at Global University in Spain. There, we will help to teach the next generation of church leaders. With our media background, we will also help promote the education and resources available to Spanish Christians. Through Global University our goal is to preach the gospel, teach biblical and media concepts, and create resources for evangelism, discipleship, and church growth.
Finally, we are itinerating. For the next 12 to 14 months our job is to connect with pastors and their churches to share about what God is doing in Spain. This means hundreds of phone conversations, thousands of miles traveling to churches, and drinking gallons of coffee during meetings each month to share about what God is doing in Spain and to find ministry partners who will support us through prayer and financial giving. We view itineration as our stateside ministry and love inspiring people to have a heart for missions. Over the next year, we want to come to share during church services, Sunday school, small groups, and various types of events (children, youth, college/young adults, men, and women etc). For those with full church schedules, we would love to share with you over a cup of coffee or a meal.
Please note that some of our contact information has changed. Our new email is adam.weatherly@agmd.org. If you would like our new phone number please contact us via facebook or email. Also, for more information please visit facebook.com/showingtheworld or give at s1.ag.org/weatherlygiving.
As we say in Spanish, “!Dios de bendiga!” (God Bless).
