The Weatherly's Fall Update
¡Hola!
Our family has been in Spain, boots on the ground since midsummer. Since that time we have been able to find a home to rent and have been getting settled into our new town and home.
Adam has been attending language school in the very historic town of Alcala de Henares. It is the birthplace of Miguel Cervantes, the author of the famous novel Don Quijote. Bethany has begun Spanish tutoring at home so that she can also care for ‘S’, who is still at home.
‘C’ has begun 4th grade at a Christian school and is thriving and loving it! We are so thankful for the school that God has placed him in.
Even though this first year is for language and cultural studies before Adam starts to work with Global University, we have been able to use our gifts in helping with some ministry in the missionary community here in Madrid. Adam has been able to teach a photography workshop at the international church, as well as help out with filming an event for an Arabic-speaking church. Bethany is now serving on the board of Caleb’s Christian school.
We are both praying for more opportunities to use our strengths where we can, but also to grow exponentially in our Spanish skills. Learning a new language in your thirties is no small feat! Please be in prayer for us about this!
