¿Que Pasa Amigos? Here's an update from the Weatherlys

¿Qué Pasa Amigos? (How's it going?)

The time has finally come to announce that we have a date for our return to Spain! June 29th!! In a few short weeks, we will be leaving our stateside home and family and heading back over the pond to the place of our calling. This has been a very long, grueling, and patience-testing time for us. But with God's help and your partnership, we are finally on our way to working with the local Spanish Global University!

We’ve had several people ask us, what will you miss? What do you look forward to? What is that kind of move like? Here’s a little glimpse into the life of this missionary family.

Because we were here in the states for the pandemic and had no idea when we would be able to make it back, we put down roots. We made friends, picked back up old friendships, and got involved in ways that we usually wouldn't during an itineration cycle. Usually, we would be traveling each weekend and having meetings throughout the week leaving very little time for anything else in our personal lives. Because of the extended time due to the pandemic and the painfully long visa process this time, it was different. God gave us some wonderful friends and experiences. We were able to spend a bit more time with the pastors that we have come to call friends and more time outside ministry circles as well. It has been very enriching, and yet, our hearts were always pulled toward our calling and we longed to return to Spain. Now it's here! Our hearts are soaring, but the roots are much harder to pull up this time!

Our oldest son is having a hard time leaving friends and the school he has come to enjoy. He has been blessed with the ability to make friends very easily, but it's little consolation to him now as we count down the days to moving back to a place he barely remembers. Our youngest is happy as a clam and totally oblivious to the packing.

We are so looking forward to putting down roots again! We are looking forward to getting back to our friends, whom we have missed these last few years, back to the walking around in some of the most historically rich places in the world, back to the friendly Spanish culture and the wonderful Spanish coffee.

We will miss family, friends, real fast food, and the ease of knowing our own culture (some exceptions for Bethany still being a missionary kid herself). But look forward to getting to work, and sharing the gospel with Spaniards!

Thank you for your support and your prayers!
