Weatherly Report August 2020
¡Hola!
It’s hard to believe that our family has been back in the United States for 11 months now. Over the past 11 months a ton of things have happened. Here is our Weatherly Report for August 2020.
First, in October 2019, our family was approved as AGWM General Appointed “Career” Missionaries. For us this means a lifetime commitment to serving God as missionaries. We are extremely excited that after 12 years of hard work to qualify as missionaries, God’s call on our life is finally coming to pass.
Second, we are transitioning from International Media Ministries (IMM) to Global University (GU) in Madrid, Spain. There we will serve alongside the Spanish director, Andoni Muro to “Reach the Lost” and “Train the Found.” We will be teaching through the GU School of Evangelism and Discipleship, and also using the GU resources to create tools to help Spaniards reach people in their own language and cultural context. We are extremely excited to serve in this new role.
Third, as of November 2019, we started our second itineration as missionaries. As newly appointed AGWM career missionaries, our budget has doubled from our Missionary Associate assignment. Currently, we have 45 churches that have partnered with us through monthly prayer and financial support. Because of this, we are sitting at 43% of our total monthly budget. AGWM has told us that it takes on average 120 churches who support a missionary on a monthly basis for a missionary to get to the field and to be effective. We need 75 more churches to partner with us so we can not only get to the field, but also be effective in what God has called us to do.
Last but not least, God has been working through us as we itinerate. In the month of July 2020, we were able to talk with and encourage a young couple as they have found a new faith in Jesus as a family, and they committed to becoming involved in their local church at Open Door Assembly in Luther, OK. A week or so later, while traveling, we stopped at a McDonalds in Tulsa where the Holy Spirit led us to pray for a woman who was going through a number of issues and had stepped away from God. We were able to connect her with a local Assembly of God church. Not only were we able to help each person we ministered to find a local assembly, we were also able to give them resources to help them grow in their newfound faith in Jesus. We praise God for this family and for this lady. Their stories can be found on our blog www.ShowingTheWorld.com/news-blog
Now, we are gearing up for this fall. It is going to be busy! We will be at District Council on August 7th; at the Men’s Main Event, Daughter’s Conference, and Fall Ministry Tour in September; and the Light for the Lost Tour in October. We would like to book more services on Sundays (AM & PM) and Wednesdays to encourage churches all over Oklahoma, and want to share at any other events you may have! Please see our Sunday calendar to find out when we can come share at your event (note: weekdays are so hard to schedule, we decided not to include them. But, every day of the week is open). We can even join you via video!
For those of you who are already partnering with us, Thank You. You are a great blessing to us and to the people we serve. For those who are not yet ministry partners, will you please consider becoming one of our 120 ministry partners that help share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Spain and around the world?
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit (Phil. 4:23)
